Welcome to the Land Department of Reserve Oil & Gas, Inc. Our Land Department is a key component in the continued and long term growth strategy of Reserve and often the initial face and impression of the company. In comparison with our peers, we are confident you will find our Land Department to be professional, experienced, honest, and straightforward. Because of Reserve’s association with its sister drilling and contracting company, CSi, we have greater control over our work product and you have a direct line of communication throughout the entire process. Reserve is focused on growth through the drill-bit in targeted areas and not interested in acquiring/grabbing leases in areas that we do not plan on drilling and then peddling them to others. Bottom line, when you are talking to Reserve about a land issue, you are dealing direct with the people responsible for making the multitude of decisions and we expect you to hold us accountable.
Reserve’s Land Department is generally responsible for the following:
- Prospect evaluation to determine Reserve’s level of interest
- Initial abstracting to determine all the mineral owners
- Title curative work
- Lease negotiation and execution with the mineral/royalty owner(s)
- Road and pipeline right-of-way acquisition to access the site and transport any produced gas to market
- Interacting and communicating with the surface owner(s) as needed in regards to staking, permitting, and drilling a new well, as well as damage settlements upon the conclusion of well site reclamation activities.
- Addressing any concerns from the general public and/or communities in which we drill and operate.
With that being said, we hope you dig deeper into Reserve to see what makes us unique and we welcome any questions or concerns you may have. For additional information, please visit our Stakeholder Relations area of the site.

Are you interested in leasing to Reserve?
Reserve is currently focused on developing the Lower Huron member of the Devonian Shale near the city of Charleston in Kanawha County, West Virginia. If you own the minerals, would consider an offer from Reserve to lease your tract and haven’t already been contacted by Reserve, please visit our Request To Review Land Prospect Page to submit a request which will allow us to more accurately respond. Once we evaluate the tract, we will: (a) express our level of interest and lease or (b) point you in the direction of another reputable producer who may be better suited to develop your tract.
Are you a Producer wanting to work with Reserve in some manner?
Since our goal is ultimately the same, Reserve has a reputation in the oil and gas industry for working fairly and communicating with other producers in the area’s we operate. From AMI’s to farmouts to farmins to joint ventures to copies of our well logs, we welcome you to contact us anytime.
Are you interested in selling your minerals/royalties?
Although we advise against it, for a variety of reasons (e.g., unforeseen circumstances requiring cash, insignificant/minimal ownership percentages in highly fragmented tracts, etc), mineral/royalty owners elect to sell their mineral/royalty ownerships. Reserve routinely offers up-front lump sum payments to acquire mineral/royalty interests on tracts we have drilled or plan on drilling. If you are interested in Reserve making an offer, please contact Amy Raines at araines@reserveoilandgas.com
Do you have a concern which we need to address?
